The company was established in 2001 in Milan by a young entrepreneur who started his career in corporate communications, is a lover of contemporary art and is an inquisitive investigator into new trends. It is Luca Santoro who had the intuition to identify a new housing concept, that of loft living, which immediately established a new and unique way of living associated with a totally contemporary use of space.

The first examples of loft apartments were seen in New York in the 1950s. This type of alternative home, primarily favoured by artists, architects, stylists and those working in creative industries became very popular due to its unprecedented flexibility. The loft apartment is in fact a lifestyle choice, an open space, essential and multifunctional, space for living and working, defined by its absence of structure and designed by light.

From these beginnings a very high level of clientele emerged so over the past few years House&Loft has widened and diversified its sales activities, anticipating new housing trends for luxury living in Italy and around the world to respond to the requirements of the most discerning international buyer. Today the Group's portfolio includes the most sought-after types of prestigious properties: In addition to loft apartments it now lists villas, historic palaces, traditional farmhouses, castles, period apartments, ultramodern penthouses... all unique and beautiful.

In addition House&Loft sources and sells luxury hotels, prestigious commercial offices, premises and showrooms and exclusive properties in golf resorts around the world. These properties are managed through the following divisions of the House&Loft group: Building & Hotel, Luxury Boutique e Golf Resort.

Today House&Loft is present across the whole of Italy with offices in Milan, Genoa, Verona, Rome, Bari, Verbania (Lake Maggiore) and Porto Cervo (Sardinia). Through its ongoing process of internationalisation House&Loft has expanded not only its activities but also its boundaries by opening offices around the globe - New York, Miami, San Francisco, London, Moscow, Kiev, St Moritz, Shanghai - in order to manage directly the property sales in the most ought-after locations around the world.
